Reading One – Blog

A blog is an online journal in which the writer controls there online identity. It consists of a title, date, time and name of the author publishing the post. There is no word limit set to a blog post however it is preferred by readers to read a short blog post. Bloggers have the opportunity to keep readers engaged by limiting the word count of each blog post by linking the readers to another site where they are able to explore to a greater depth to there own will, what it is the writer is trying to explaining in there post.

A blog is a necessary tool for teaching as it allows students to participate and express their own interests while using the techniques of blogging. By sharing and linking each other to different blogs, students are exposed to a numerous amount of writing styles and tend to pick up new skills along the way when reading work that is of a higher standard; as well as knowing what a post of a lower standard would appear to look and sound like.

Blogs nowadays are another step in the recruitment process as employers may decide to take the time to discover who the candidate is by reading through the blog and getting to know them better through the online persona in which they have created and developed over time.
